When we become Christians, we are called to a life of obedience. But what does that look like? And why is it so important? It’s easy to think that our behavior doesn’t really matter if we have Christ in our hearts. But our behavior matters a lot. In fact, it’s our obedience to God that leads to spiritual change in our lives.
When we obey God, we are giving him permission to work in our lives and change us from the inside out. It’s not just about changing our behavior for the sake of changing our behavior. It’s about allowing God to work in us and change us into the people he created us to be. And when we do that, our behavior naturally changes as well. We see things from his perspective and act accordingly.
Obeying God also shows him we trust him. It shows that we believe he knows what’s best for us and that we will submit to his will for our lives. And when we obey him, he blesses us. He gives us the strength to continue obeying him even when it’s difficult. He gives us peace amid trials and comfort in times of sorrow.
If you’re struggling with obedience, remember that it’s not just about changing your behavior. It’s about allowing God to work in your life and change you from the inside out. When you do that, you’ll find that your behavior naturally changes as well. So don’t give up! Keep obeying God and watch as he works in your life to bring about spiritual transformation.
